What encouraging words help you? We all need a word or two to remember to encourage ourselves all the day. Even more helpful is a quote that we can live by, to think positive, see the good and walk tall in who we are.
Here are some quotes that have helped me along the way, when seeking rest in seeking wisdom, or when people have tried to pull us down or just wanting to be God’s fragrance in doing life.
“We need to find God, and He cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass - grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence…we need silence to be able to touch souls” Mother Theresa
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer” Romans 12: 12
“When people undermine your dreams, predict your doom or criticize you, remember they’re telling you their story. Not yours!”
“Sometimes it is better to be kind than to be right. We do not need an intelligent mind that speaks but a patient heart that listens”
Beautiful gifts! Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Want them? Give them. You’ll receive them back manifold…..!
“If we can find short-term incentives that are consistent with our long-term objectives, it is much easier to make the right decisions in the moment.” – Tom Rath, Wellbeing: The Five Essential Elements.
“Often, the very people out to get us are afraid of us.”
“Act out of understanding and knowledge – not out of fear” …. MM
“Do a little often and it will get done”….. MM
“ Going back can sometimes be the quickest way forward” CS Lewis ‘Mere Christianity’
I jotted these quotes and encouragements from various sources. I look through my journals to find them. To have some together like this is encouraging; reading them every now and then helps keep my perspective on the right track.
Its good to see the global picture and work out how we can join in for the better of our children's world.
