For the farmers sake and for you, our preference is always organic though on occasions seasonal variations may compel us to include a non-organic single origin in our blend. Our companion in this organic partiality is well backed up by the Fairtrade system. Certified farmers must act on bans on an extensive list of currently used herbicides and fertilisers leaving all stakeholders better off in the process.
Our Philosophy
There are 2 things for us at Tribes and Nations that have grounded us in our commitment to ethical coffee through the Fairtrade system.
Firstly, we have seen the exploitation of workers during our five-years living in Tanzania.
Secondly we are driven by the words of Paul in the Bible that say “that there might be equality”. Tribes and Nations exists to fulfill this and to help others do the same.
